A family has been ostracised in a Chikkamagaluru village and its residents have been threatened with a fine of Rs 5,000 if they interact with them. The family's crime: Son Somashekhar married a Dalit woman. The couple tied the knot in 2019 and worked in Bengaluru. They were forced to return to their village during the second wave in 2021.
