A 20-year-old engineering student in Bengaluru was arrested on charges of threatening to bomb Kempegowda International Airport. The accused is a resident of Kudlu Gate and a student of a private engineering college in Punjab. According to the accused, he was finding it hard to commute between his residence and the airport, and in anger he tweeted the offensive message "I will bomb the BLR airport so that they can rebuild closer to city." The tweet he posted around 1015pm on December 10 read: "after a complaint from airport officials, NE Division Police and Cybercrime cops launched the probe and zeroed in on the suspect who was arrested from his college in Jalandhar Punjab.
