The former Chief Minister of India, Jagdish Shettar, spoke at a gathering after the unfurling of the national flag at Nehru Stadium to mark 74th Republic Day. He said that the country's progress and leadership have attracted the attention of all over the world, and that the PM Modiled Government has given good governance in the last eight years. Shettar said that the problem of drinking water will be solved, and that the Mahadayi Tribunal has ruled in favour of the state on the Kalasabanduri Scheme. The Central Government has agreed to approve the DPR. The Goa Government instead of making it an emotional issue should cooperate with regard to the project. Mukund explained about the government schemes for people, after which Shettar received a guard of honour from police home guards, police band, and schoolchildren.
