At least 625 acres of land belonging to temples under the Karna - taka endowment (Muzrai) department has been encroached upon, a survey of more than 5,700 temples by the depart - ment has revealed. A district-wise breakup puts Kodagu on top with 287 acres of temple land that has been encroached upon, followed by Kolar with more than 81 acres.
