The state home department has increased remuneration for police personnel deputed on poll duty. Remuneration for officers of the rank of deputy superintendent of police (DSP) and above has been hiked from Rs 5,000 (lump sum) to Rs 7,000, while inspectors will get Rs 700 per day, and police constables to those of PSI rank will get Rs 500 per day.
