During the recent bandh in Bengaluru over the Cauvery water sharing issue, the public transport buses were not suspended and no buses were vandalized. The BMTC operated at a reduced capacity due to poor occupancy, completing only about 3,500 schedules instead of the usual 5,600. The Namma Metro also saw lower footfall, with only 1.5 lakh people traveling on Friday compared to the usual five lakh. Both bus and metro services ran as per schedule during the bandh.
