Residents of Yelahanka in Bengaluru are facing delays in getting piped natural gas (PNG) due to the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) dragging its feet on giving the required clearances. Despite receiving a no-objection certificate in 2018, the BBMP has been delaying approval, leaving over 1,000 residents from various apartment complexes and housing societies without access to PNG. The Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) has laid pipelines and installed meters, but cannot connect them to the gas hub without BBMP's permission. The issue is currently pending before the road infrastructure wing of the BBMP.
