Siddamati Nelavigi, an 88-year-old resident of Haveri, has won top prizes in 16 categories at a senior citizens' competition in Bengaluru. She won 16 gold, three silver, and a bronze medal in various events such as sports, folk singing, speech, storytelling, and drawing. Siddamati, a long-distance runner in her prime, finished first in the 100-meter walk in the 81-90 years category. She attributes her success to daily walking and staying mentally strong. Despite the pandemic, Siddamati continued to practice and stay busy, proving that age is not a barrier to achieving one's goals.
