BBMP to bring PGs under regulations Bangalore News: Latest Bangalore News Headlines & Live News Updates from Bangalore - Times of India

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) in Bengaluru has decided to regulate paying guest (PG) accommodations in the city due to complaints from residents and citizen groups. With over 20,000 PG accommodations in the city, the BBMP plans to introduce guidelines to address issues such as overcrowding, hygiene, and safety. The move will impact all PG facilities, although the PG Owners' Association argues that separate rules are unnecessary. The BBMP also highlighted that many PGs are not contributing to the local economy despite charging high rents from occupants.
