Senior IAS officer Rajneesh Goel has been appointed as the new chief secretary of Karnataka, taking over from Vanditha Sharma, who will retire on November 30. Goel, who is currently serving as additional chief secretary to the chief minister, will hold the position until his retirement in July 2024. It is likely that Goel's wife, Shalini Rajneesh, who is also a senior officer, will replace him. The couple, both from the Karnataka cadre, are expected to hold the high office for a total of four years.
