The government of Karnataka has instructed all district administrations to restrict the bursting of crackers between 8pm and 10pm during Deepavali. The government has also mandated the sale of green crackers only. This is in compliance with the guidelines issued by the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) and the Supreme Court's directives. The municipal administration has instructed all urban local bodies to comply with these guidelines and conduct random checks on cracker stocks.
