The Karnataka government has introduced a new rule for pilgrims seeking the Kashi pilgrimage subsidy of Rs 5,000. Instead of producing certificates, pilgrims must now take a geotagged selfie within a 5km radius of the Kashi Vishwanath temple and upload it on a designated app or portal. The selfie rule aims to simplify the process and prevent false subsidy claims.
