The headmistress of Government Model Higher Primary School, Lakshmidevamma, was arrested in Yeshwantpur limits on the charge of forcing schoolchildren to clean toilets. She was remanded in 14-day judicial custody. The incident came to light after a video of two class VI children cleaning the toilets went viral on social media. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah termed the incident 'inhuman' and promised strict action against the accused.
