The Recognised Unaided Private Schools' Association (Rupsa) has written to Union finance minister Nirmala Seetharaman to restructure loans they had availed from banks and give them a moratorium of one year at least. In a letter signed by Rupsa president Lokesh Talikkatte, the association cites that around 2,500 schools in the state have shut or are on the verge of closing down since Covid struck. More will be forced to close if they do not receive any help, it said.
