Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar are set to meet with representatives in New Delhi to discuss the Cauvery river water dispute. This follows the Cauvery Water Management Authority's recent order for Karnataka to release 5,000 cusecs of water daily for 15 days to Tamil Nadu. The meeting aims to build consensus among parties and seek the cooperation of the central government. Karnataka is likely to seek dismissal of Tamil Nadu's appeal for the release of 24,000 cusecs, citing the distress in the Cauvery basin due to lack of water.
