Forest department officials in Bengaluru arrested a TV reality show contestant for possessing tiger claws, which are prohibited under the Wildlife Act. The accused, Varthur Santosh, had been wearing the claws in a locket for the past few years in the hopes of gaining fame and fortune. Officials are now looking for the friend who advised Santosh and the goldsmith who framed the claws. The punishment for this violation can include both penalty and imprisonment ranging from three to seven years. In a separate incident, two individuals were arrested in Chikkamagaluru district for wearing pendants with tiger claws.
