Deputy CM DK Shivakumar announced plans to bring Kanakapura, currently part of Ramanagara district, into Bengaluru Urban district in order to increase land prices and benefit landowners. He urged residents not to sell assets to Bengalureans and promised to increase the value of their assets by 10 times. The move is seen as a way to attract investments and address the non-availability of land in Bengaluru.
